Restaurant Kamiya
A moment to unwind in the city.
Located on the 2nd floor of the Kamiya Building in Asakusa 1-chome, right above Kamiya Bar, Restaurant Kamiya serves nostalgic yoshoku favorites like crispy crab croquettes and juicy minced meat cutlets alongside freshly poured draft beer and its signature Denki Bran cocktail in a relaxed setting.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Just steps from the Asakusa Station exit, head up the stairs or elevator of the Kamiya Building to the 2nd floor, where Restaurant Kamiya awaits. Setting itself apart from the lively bustle of the ground-floor bar on the 1st floor, the spacious dining room with its neatly arranged tables carries the calm, classic atmosphere of an old-school department store dining hall. It is an inviting spot whenever you want to sit down and take your time over a meal or drinks.
The menu features familiar yoshoku—Japan's heritage Western-style cooking—ranging from crisp, breaded crab croquettes filled with rich cream sauce to juicy menchi-katsu and fried prawns accompanied by tartar sauce. Alongside assorted combination plates that pair fried prawns with hamburger steak or crab croquettes, single-plate assortments featuring German potatoes and fried chicken are popular accompaniments for drinks. Alongside satisfying medium mugs of draft beer, the true highlight here is sipping Asakusa's famous Denki Bran cocktail or enjoying it lengthened with soda in a refreshing Denki Bran sour.
After a hearty meal, you can round things off with sweet treats like rich homemade egg pudding, a tall glass of pudding à la mode, or a chocolate banana parfait. From an easy lunch between strolls around Asakusa to an early evening drink with small savory bites, it remains an unpretentious restaurant to drop into at your own pace.
